Photography class with Nelson (Register for all 4 sessions) on Wednesdays from 1:30 to 3:00 starting 5/8/2019

photographycameraDo you have an interest in expanding your photography skills? Do you own a DSLR camera and are familiar with some camera settings but not sure what the relationship is between them – aperture, ISO and shutter speed?  Do you do all your shooting in auto/program mode?  Do you want to understand how to use light to tell a better story and become comfortable photographing people?  If you answer yes to one or more of these questions,  then this is the place for you.

Sign up for this 4-session program aimed at building your confidence in creating and capturing great photographic stories using a DSLR camera. The class will be hands-on so come with an adventurous heart and a spirit to learn.

Wednesday, May 8th (Session 1) content – Establishing the relationship between the basic camera settings – aperture, ISO and shutter speed
Wednesday, May 22nd (Session 2) content – Photography & Light – How light influences the photographic stories we tell (Types of light, how to see light, dealing with light and shadows).
Wednesday, June 5th (Session 3) content – The Power of Personal Story – How personal stories influence the image creation process (Creating visual stories).
Wednesday, June 12th (Session 4) content – Photographer-Subject Relationship – How to interact with subject during the image creation process (Vision, Effective Communication and Collaboration).

*Please bring your own DSLR camera to the program.

Class size is limited to 6 participants and registration is required. (Click here to register)  Due to the limited space, we ask that you commit to attending all 4 sessions.

About the instructor: Nelson A. Gbeve is the creative director/photographer at DENELSONS PHOTOGRAPHY based in East Hampstead, New Hampshire.  He holds a degree in Communication Design/Arts and is a two-time winner of the oral presentation conference at University of New Hampshire Undergraduate Research Conference.

Nelson’s love for people fueled a love for photography. He was a photography hobbyist for over 5 years until he began shooting professionally in 2016. Nelson owns a wedding and family portrait photography business and shoots fashion and conceptual photography for personal projects. According to Nelson, Photography is a given back art where we share with others that which we have acquired. In this series of classes, the aim is to create an open photography learning environment where individuals are encouraged, photography related questions can be answered and one can grow and boost their confidence as a photographer.
