Author visit ~ New York Times Best Seller Peter Zheutlin ~ @ 6:30 Thursday, 1/11/2018

Join us for the eveningZheutlin cover to hear New York Times best seller, Peter Zheutlin as he talks about his recent books covering the topic of dog rescues. New York Times best seller, Rescue Road: One Man, Thirty Thousand Dogs and a Million Miles on the Last Hope Highway is the true story of one man who drove more than 1 million miles to rescue thousands of dogs from hunger, abuse and neglect and give them a second chance at life and love. As a journalist Peter traveled with Greg from Ohio to the Gulf Coast on his Rescue Road Trips to bring hard-luck dogs from the deep South to loving “forever families” up north looking to adopt a pet, with the help of many selfless volunteers along the way.  Come hear about this inspiring story.

His book, Rescued: What Second-chance Dogs Teach Us about Living with Purpose, Loving with Abandon, and Finding Joy in the Little Things is a follow up follow-up to Rescue Road, and offers a new look into the world of rescue dogs. Sharing lessons from his own experiences adopting Labs with large personalities as well as stories and advice from dozens of families and rescue advocates, Zheutlin reveals the surprising and inspiring life lessons rescue dogs can teach us.

Peter is a freelance journalist and author whose work has appeared regularly in The Boston Globe and The Christian Science Monitor. He has written for The Los Angeles Times, Parade Magazine, AARP Magazine and numerous other publications in the U.S. and abroad.  A graduate from Amherst College in 1975 and from Boston College Law School in 1979,  Peter lives with his wife Judy in Massachusetts with rescue dogs, Albie, Salina and Jambalaya (Jamba for short). He also has two grown sons.
