healthy cookbook maybeJoin us as Roy Haddock discusses how he overcame lifelong struggles with being overweight. For the presentation, Ray will accompanied by his wife Debbie, who is a Registered Dietician and a great source of information and knowledge on the subject.

Highlights of the talk will include:

· Dieting. Experiences with the Atkins Diet and others. Th cycles of losing and gaining as well as the difficulties dieting and lack of satisfaction.

· Search for a better easier way to lose weight and keep it off and the realities of dieting.

· Decision to combine two diets/ weight loss methods. The best of both.

· Details of what it is and what it is not.

· What foods to enjoy and which to avoid. Typical menu. Satisfaction level.

· Planning .tips, and some favorite recipes we’ve discovered.

· Reading food labels. What’s important to you and what’s not.

· Possible implications concerning blood pressure and diabetes.

There will be time for Q&A following the discussion. Registration is required.

About the presenters: Deb Sullivan grew up in western CT and came to Boston to attend Simmons College. She has been a dietitian for 30 plus years working in long-term care for the past 25 years. Deb has two sons who have blessed her with two grandsons.

Roy Haddock originally came from Medford with a long stay in Melrose. He occasionally works as a tradesman for his company. Roy has two daughters and shares the grandsons with Deb.

When Deb and Roy first met they took up birdwatching which let to photography. They now engage in nature, landscape, and travel photography. They enjoy domestic and international travel preferably in a RV. Deb and Roy are also big fans of the Boston Sport Teams.
